If you live in Nebraska you know that summer is the time to take advantage of outdoor activities because our winters are brutal. Although it is already August, there is still time to get some summer fun before school starts. Whether you are taking the kids out for some weekend fun or even having a quick date night, there is plenty to do. Below we have listed our favorite outdoor activities to do in Nebraska.

Footgolf

This competitive outdoor activity is fun for the whole family. Footgolf combines the popular sports soccer and golf. To play, all you need to have is a soccer ball and 21-inch diameter cups. The rules are very similar to golf and can either be played walking the course or using golf carts. We suggest calling ahead to make sure courses are open during these rapidly changing times.

Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park

Go Ape Zipline & Adventure Park is located in the middle of Lincoln and Omaha. Stationed in Mahoney State Park, this activity is definitely one for the books. This activity is an outdoor obstacle course that sits high in the treetops. Some of the courses are 40 feet high! With ziplining and breathtaking views, you will definitely want to give this experience a try this summer.

Hiking and Walking Trails

There is a lot to see in Nebraska’s nature. That’s why another activity we recommend this summer is finding new hiking and walking trails near you. Walking around your favorite lake or a new found trail could be the highlight of your summer evenings. What a great way to connect with nature and get some fresh air!
